Wedding Stationery - Faye & Chris

Winter weddings can be just as magical as Summer ones - a touch of fur here and there and a sprinkling of snow can make the day complete. An indoor wedding also means you don't need to rely on perfect sunshine for your perfect day. For Faye & Chris the 4th of February was their chosen special day. The look for the day - simple, stylish and white.

We met Faye and her mum Ann at the Bristol Vintage Wedding Fair, where they were looking for something with a hint of classic style, without the rustic vintage trend that is so popular at the moment. Being the perfect client, they were very open minded when it came to the stationery design, giving our creative muscles space to stretch and come up with some very unique ideas.

The outcome - a subtle grey on white scheme, with a monogram motif used throughout, simple and understated without being too fussy and with a hint of fun.

We created the entire suite for the wedding - the accordion Save the Date cards with matching handmade mini envelopes, the main day and evening invitations and all of the day stationery, including the order of service, escort cards and place cards.

Enjoy this Wintery inspiration. (Yes, it even snowed!)

The Save the Date cards - accordion style, litho printed with matching handmade lined envelopes.

The Invitation - Letterpress printed with superfine metallic silver dust onto beautiful Cranes Lettra 600gsm 100% cotton card.
Matching envelopes with printed lining and motif printing to the outside.

Reply cards with return envelopes - these ensure no excuse for delayed replies.

The outer envelope - with bespoke printed lining.

On the day - favours were left at each place setting, acting as the place card too. For the ladies some chocolate...

...for the gentlemen, a lucky lottery ticket!

On the day - the Bride & Groom place settings.

Change of Address Cards - Liz Kingston.

It's amazing how effective just one colour can be, especially when accompanied by a nice deep impression and matching lined envelopes.
We printed and designed these change of address cards recently for one of our clients, and we were more than happy with the result.
Printed in dark pink on the ever effective Somerset Satin stock - a real winner when it comes to a good bite. Excellently typeset using Minion small caps (with old style figures), and a lovely woodtype ornament to give the card just that little something extra.

As with every order we do, we do our upmost to package and present your stationery to a very high standard, here you can see every stage we take in meticulously packing your order.

Wedding inspiration - Rumana and Devan

I am excited to finally be able to show you a beautiful letterpress invitation suite designed and printed here at Meticulous Ink for Rumana and Devan's Asian wedding. A joining of two cultures inspired the mendhi design at the top of the invitation, with the text kept simple.
An added sparkle with a Swarovski crystal made the perfect finishing touch.
The invitations were letterpress printed onto soft Somerset 100% cotton board, along with
matching reply cards and return envelopes, all held together with a personalised wrap and tissue lined envelopes.

The bride looked absolutely stunning on the big day, with a change of outfits for the evening celebrations. We hope you too will be inspired and wish the happy couple all the best.

Friday finds - Wayzgoose finds

First of all, apologies for the lack of blogging lately. We've been very busy here and have struggled to find time for posting due to all the printing work we've had on. Recent printing work blog coming soon!

Last week I visited a Wayzgoose in Chipping Campden in the Cotswolds. Originally a Wayzgoose was an event marking the start of the season of working by candlelight, where entertainmant was put on by a master-printer for workmen around August.

It then later transformed into a yearly festival held by printing establishment employees. Now a Wayzgoose is a day for printers guilds to show and sell their work and/or equipment. Exciting stuff, well for me anyway.

The annual Wayzgoose in Chipping Campden is held by the Oxford Printers Guild and showcased a variety of the letterpress worlds finest printing presses and most important figures.

Lousia Hare/First Folio Cards

I first met Lousia Hare, a lady who we have dealt with regularly before as we stock her fantastic letterpress Shakespeare greeting cards. She runs a Heidelberg using blocks and type to create these wonderful letterpress cards.

I then met Alan Brignull. Alan works mainly with Adanas to create beautiful letterpress prints. Especially stamps. He told me he usually has an old stamp dispensing machine with which he usually has these stamps available for purchase, a lovely idea, shame I couldn't see it though.
Alan runs Hedgehog press, Adanaland and also prints his 'Rambling Urchin' postcard keepsakes. More here.

I then managed to meet Graham Moss from Incline Press who I had come across from seeing his beautiful jam and marmalade labels. He runs workshops and sells beautifully printed books from his studio in Oldham.

It always amazes me the size of the letterpress world in the UK, lovely people for a great resurging industry.

A lovely day - and if you haven't visited Chipping Campden before - I recommend it, fascinating place.

Royal Wedding Postcards.

Ok, so we're cutting it a little fine with getting our royal wedding memorabilia ready for our shop, but better late than never.
So here they are, and quite proud we are of them too! A lovely two sided letterpress postcard, designed and printed entirely in house here at Meticulous Ink H.Q! Available in our shop now (and after the wedding) - together with a red tissue lined deckle edged envelope, to keep it nice and fresh.

Our print projects so far.

Just thought I'd put up a small selection of our jobs that we've done for clients over the past 5 months. Now that we have permission, or that events have gone by. We're considerate like that you see.

This was a lovely letterpress invitation we designed and printed for a clients birthday party. The simplicity and beauty of trusty Gotham does wonders when bitten into a nice 638gsm Waterford.

Die-stamped wedding invitation in grey and silver. Very simple, Goudy bold in metallic silver, with a white bevel brushed edge. Elegant stationery for a chic wedding in Italy.

Letterpress business cards, traditionally set in Gill sans. Red and black on 410gsm Somerset satin.

A very adventurous die stamped personal stationery set.
Die stamped, blind embossed letterheads and envelopes with a printed lining.

And there will be more to come! Also a special on letterpress personal stationery coming soon.
